If he is successful arguing that, then it gets him out of the legal ethics quandary, but I am not sure it gets him out of the illegal campaign contribution problem, because the payoff happened within 10 days of the election, when Stormy could have gone public with her story and potentially impacted the outcome of the election. As far as DJT, I think he walks away, as usual, without any lasting damage…other than with Melania. One could argue that being in trouble with Melania is way worse.
