How can I remove the “Unmarked set by user” note that appears on each page of a PDF after I redact it using Adobe Acrobat?
During redacting, Acrobat allows you to set the look and feel of the note that will appear in reacted areas once done. While marking areas to redact, you can click Properties in the context menu and set and format the text to show in every individual redacted block:The settings are “sticky” and will stay for every new redaction until you change them. That’s what might have happened to you since you or some other user on your account last changed the redaction properties. Now, that’s all good and dandy, but if you already applied the redactions, they become regular objects ingrained in the document, and can no longer be changed like that. But hey, on the flipside, they become searchable and replaceable. Go Edit Find, and replace the original redaction text with whatever you want. It’s going to be tedious though as there’s no Replace All for your own good, and any formatting changes will need to be reapplied individually to every object.
As we can easily export PDFs from many kinds of software (like Word), why do people still need Acrobat Pro?
Because Acrobat (and various tools like it) do SO MUCH MORE than just create PDFs from simple documents. Some of the most common features (but no means a complete list) used by Acrobat customers:Editing (change text or images)Document Assembly (aka merging multiple documents together)Paper to PDF (aka scanning & OCR)Conversion from PDF back to Word (etc.)Redaction (removing information from a PDF)Forms processing (creation or submission handling)

How can I blackout a section in a PDF file?
I assume what you really want to do is redaction - permanent removal of content. In that case, many professional products such as Adobe Acrobat Pro offer that feature.
Is there any software that can auto-highlight variables in a PDF?
Can we read PDF file that is scanned actually and converted to PDF format (Image) ? I need to black out some specific region of text in that file. Don't know how to locate the specific region and black out that. Any help
As I have been asked…There are two possibiliies. If the area is known, the redaction tools of Acrobat XI (or for serious redaction, Redax) allows to set areas on the document which will be properly redacted. If the place to redact is not known, the scanned document must first be treated with OCR (which is also available in Acrobat XI). After OCR, use the Redaction tools to find the according text. For complex searches using Regular Expressions, you may seriously consider Redax by Appligent (the industry standard tool for Redaction).Hope this can help.
How do I delete more than one similar text from a PDF file at the same time?
If all of the text are in the same position then there is a function built into Acrobat that allows you to copy a redaction mark to other pages (again: in the same position). Just right-click on the redaction mark, and select "Repeat mark across pages". This allows you to select your target pages. But, with the redaction tool you can only select a rectangular area on a page and have the tool remove all content in that area, but it will not specifically look for any text or images.
Which PDF editor is the best?
It’s really important to differentiate what type of PDF editing we’re talking about here. Most commonly people refer to the following:I can annotate, comment, add text to PDFI can change the text inside the PDF, insert images or redact textMy colleague Pavel actually covered the difference between the two in details here. Having that said, let me share my personal opinion with you.Honestly, for a very long time I used and loved STDU viewer. It’s feature-rich, fast, free and most importantly supports a lot of different formats in addition to PDF .However, when I switched to Mac OS, I was disappointed to find out that STDU isn’t available there. Luckily for me, I started to work Readdle at that time and started to use PDF Expert. Instead of writing well polished marketing copy that you can find on the web-site, here is a list of features that define my PDF experience right now:Simple UI that allows me to focus on the document contentRich annotation features that are easy to useMultiple view modes for the same and different filesAND MOST IMPORTANTLY, actual PDF Editing tools which include:text removal/addition/changeimage insertionredact (very important if you work with some sensitive info)liking for pages and URLsimage to get your attention, but it actually shows how you can edit text in PDFE :)I can’t imagine my daily PDF experience without those tools anymore, and that’s why I recommend you try it as well. And we’re working on the major update for PDF Expert that is going to make the whole experience even better - we’ll keep you updated ,)
